There are a few making it through

Do you think those two are any good at football?

That comment might have had slightly more credibility if you had spelt the word “intellect” correctly…

I was appointed DDJ (MC) in 2005 and the number of fellow barristers who expressed astonishment was amazing. Fast forward 20 years and the same barristers are aski gme to be a referee for the same appointments

Basically tier 1 Barristers are far brainier than solicitors.

Further to that effect, how many applicants reapply after being rejected? Perhaps people applied, got discouraged and didn’t bother applying again. This subsequently leading to a drop in applications.

I feel as if this article was poorly researched, and ham handedly made conclusions and statements without support, geared at fuelling a divide between barristers and solicitors. Where it’s obvious to anyone in the profession, neither could do it without the other.

I continued to sit as a Tribunal judge until eventually retiring from that post after sitting for 25 years.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time and would recommend it to any Solicitor who wishes to extend him/herself. It makes you a better lawyer and you meet very interesting people. Go for it.
