Yes-regulations have to be tightened and enforced but what emerges from various sources is also major attitudinal issues. The local authority and its officers (Kensington and Chelsea) showed total disregard towards tenants, ignored complaints on a long term basis which is different from the errors made on the night of the fire itself. The tenants were, frankly, unimportant, many migrants many with major health issues. We can tighten the law as much as possible, but while attitudes and conduct revealed in various publications, continue things will barely change.
